Our Inspiration
The Late Pastor James E. Slappy, Jr., Founder of Calvary Church of God in Christ of Detroit, MI was a beacon of light to many lives and did all he could to give back to his family, church and the community. He loved God and loved to help people. He enjoyed spreading The Gospel, love, joy, and hope to everyone.
As an engineering graduate from Lawrence Technological University (formerly known as Lawrence Institute of Technology) he always promoted higher education. In his memory we want to promote higher education by offering scholarship assistance to promising young people.
